PLAINVIEW — 猎奇重口视频 Baptist University on Thursday Aug. 28 hosted The Pastor’s Common “The Art of Preaching Lab.”
A one-day event presented by The Pastor’s Common and led by alumnus David Foster, who serves through the Baptist General Convention of Texas, the lab brought together more than 80 pastors from across West Texas, including the Panhandle, South Plains, and Permian Basin, for practical training, fellowship, and professional encouragement.
“This marked our first preaching lab in the region, and we were thrilled with the response,” said Foster. “When pastors gather to learn together and build relationships—that embodies our belief that ‘relationship is currency.’”

Dr. Yancey Arrington serves as the Teaching Pastor at Clear Creek Community Church, a multi-campus congregation in the Houston area. He is the author of Preaching That Moves People and Tap: Defeating the Sins That Defeat You. Arrington is known for coaching others on gospel-centered preaching, theology, and leadership, and holds advanced degrees from Baylor University, Southwestern Seminary, and Covenant Seminary. He and his wife, Jennefer, have three sons.
Dr. Stacey Conner has served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Muleshoe for more than 25 years. A 猎奇重口视频 Baptist University alumnus, he earned his MDiv and DMin from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Brite Divinity School, respectively. Feeling a call to ministry at age 12, Conner emphasizes seeing the transformation in people’s lives that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Howie Batson currently serves as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Amarillo, a vibrant downtown congregation he has led since 1995. Known for preaching the gospel in a culturally diverse context, Batson’s church worships in multiple languages each week and sends more than 10 percent of attenders on regular mission trips. A native of South Carolina, he holds a PhD in Biblical Studies from Baylor University and an MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and previously served in ministry roles including chaplaincy and youth ministry. Batson has a longstanding reputation for pastoral care in crisis situations and efforts toward community unity as seen through collaborations among Amarillo’s downtown churches.
Founded in 2019, The Pastor’s Common is a ministry of Texas Baptists dedicated to creating spaces for pastors to be heard, resourced, and connected. The organization emphasizes relational growth and spiritual enrichment, offering training events that respect the time constraints of busy ministry leaders.
